I'm at The New Comm Forum in Las Vegas, listening to David Parmet conduct an excellent workshop on the basics of blogging to a packed room of corporate communications folk.
At the break, I had one of those moments that authors dream about. It happened on the break a as I toasted a blog. Two attendees were talking behind me. One said to the other, "Right now, I'm reading naked Conversations..." I could contain myself no longer. I whirled around and said, "I can get the author to sign it for you." It turned out she was Georgette Pereira and she's a communications manager for Dow. She told me about her difficulties walking around her conservative work environment holding a book with that title.
If you've ever seen the classic movie Annie Hall, Woody Allen gets into an argument about Marshall McLuhan, the media guru of an earlier age. As the argument heats up, McLuhan appears, and introduces himself taking Woody's side.
This would have been my Marshall McLuhan moment had I only waited a couple more minutes. In my excitement, I never waited to ask what Georgette thought of naked Conversations.
By the way, David just told the crowd that the more links we give him, the more popular he gets. So David, have another. Here's one more.
