Loic LeMeur has announced Les Blogs III will be held in Paris Dec. 11 & 12 this year in a venue that can accommodate 900 people and with an agenda which will encompass more social media than just blogging. He also promises to actually serve food this year, having learned that hungry minds require more over two days than just food for thought.
Last December, Les Blogs II was the first place that Robert and I spoke together and I remember it with a slight wince because it was very far from our best performance. My wince is only slight because the overall experience of being there was extremely expansive, perhaps life-changing. I met old friends like Hugh McLeod and Tom Raftery face-to-face for the first time. I met other people who are now among my inner circle of friends. I've also been twice invited back to Europe to speak because of people I met at Les Blogs for the first time.
People from about 25 countries participated last year making it the most multinational conference in social media by far. I'm not certain how I feel about a 900-person get together, however. I think there's a danger of lost intimacy.
In any case, if you can possibly be in Paris in December, I highly recommend you attend.
