Well, Robert goes live next week with The Scoble Show starting with an interview of Jonathan Schwartz, the fast-talking, excessively bright and slightly Zen CEO of Sun Microsystems.
Earlier this week, he came in to interview my client Evan Krauss, CEO of CUTS who will be launching at DEMO next week. Here was my book partner behind the camera. Robert and I have had some history of being together in front of the camera. Here was Evan, just a tad apprehensive about being interviewed for the likely to-be prestigious Scoble Show. There was me, sitting on the sidelines feeling very much like the PR guy I used to be.
I wondered if when the music stopped, we could all change chairs and roles.
Evan did great as I knew he would. I think CUTS will blow people's socks off when they show a legal way to cut, add,, remix or mash up a copyrighted video.
But there was real pleasure was watching Scoble in action. I never quite understood how good he is as a TV interviewer. Robert did two segments as he will do for the Scoble Show. In the first, he asked Evan to just talk with him while the camera ran. It was an authentic naked conversation and it pleases me to see the concept of our book spreading into this new space by the fountainhead of our book project.
Robert's second segment, in several ways is even more naked. He directed Evan to Demo his product and to speak directly into the unblinking, rectangular eye of the camera. As Evan noted, it's much easier talking to a human.
Scoble says that these two parts will be used in most of his Scoble Show interviews, for those of you queueing up to be interviewed by him.
On Friday, Robert will interview another of my DEMO clients, Carlos Garcia of Scrapblog, who will be performing in the same segments as CUTS. This time, I'll remember to take pictures of Scoble filming my client. When the music stops, maybe Carlos will get behind the camera and interview me, while Scoble sits on the sidelines and takes notes.
