Rick Segal recently posted about how he solved a nagging little computer problem by putting it out to bid. It took a couple of hours to find a Brazilian techie and $200 to get his problem solved.
He thinks there may be a business in creating a site where people say what problems they have and developers can bid on solving it. I have about half a dozen myself.
So here's what I think I should do. I'd like to a few developers to whip together a neat Ajaxie web 2.0 site to serve as a marketplace for buyers and sellers. I'll whip together a business plan and send it to Rick, who happens to be a VC, for financing.
It sounds like a slam dunk. There's a clear monetization model. There's extremely low overhead in the business and we can just take everything eBay has done to establish reputations and trusted networks and will all be rich in no time.
