Australia's Silkcharm teaching Saudi Arabian women social media

Laurel Papworth, known in the Twitter community as Silkcharm is an Australian social media consultant. After surviving 2 glitches: (1) No international servivice for her N95 & GIf and (2) no require male escort from Dubai into Saudi Arabia, she is alive and well and in awe of the intelligence & openess of Saudi women.

Laurel is there to teach Saudi women about social media. I am sure that there are no  best practices yet established in this area and that every day she is breaking new ground, even as she worries about her scarf slipping from over her blonde hair.

When she is back safely into Australia, I will have to interview her about this experience for the SAP Global Survey.

Way to go @Silkcharm!.... Thanks for this post makes me and other women in Asia confident that in Social Media, there is no race nor religion.

Shel, having just come back from two back to back jaunts to Dubai and Bahrain... social media in the Middle East is a touchy thing. I'm sure Silkcharm "gets" the finer points of this (or soon will). There are people being incarcerated second and third times for stepping over a fine line of offenses to the royal families or their protectorates. The gender gap may be shrinking in the middle east... I'm not sure they'd let her have carte blanche if they understood what it was she was evangelizing. Important work, no doubt and work I'm sure Maryam applauds. "Caution" is all. In fact, get Maryam's point of view. Would lend a very good, personal perspective.
