I spent the evening with some good friends, eating lasagna and enjoying a really nice old Caymus. It would have been rude to sneak upstairs to watch young Zuckerberg on 60 minutes. I'm just now reading the blog reviews.
I had been hoping for something out of him, the way I keep hoping to see from John Edwards what I thought I saw from him earlier in that campaign. Duncan Riley seemed to give one of the most comprehensive reviews. Executive summary: He sucked once again. He has become a suit at an early age. He still thinks his business is about feeding employees rather than serving customers, which will continue to make it hard to feed employees. He defended Beacon, a horse than many of us thought was dead.
I keep writing that I am losing hope for faceBook. I guess the tense has now changed. I have lost it. If you are a Facebook friend, please come find me on Twitter (shelisrael). I will only now use FaceBook to plar Arik Hesseldahl in Scrabulous. Why Ari? Because he consistently beats e and my ego needs the deflating.

This is exactly what I said over at Techcrunch.com
"Mark should of accepted the billion dollar buy out when he had the chance, because Facebook is going to go down in a giant ball of fire. Every social network has, and Facebook is no exception. I do not own a Facebook for several reasons, one of which is the lack of consideration for the user experience. I think greed ruins any company too, like MySpace Facebook is getting greedy with ads and the income they are producing. I think they are literally gambling all their careers away
Like a car crash, it’s hard to look away."

I bailed on Facebook early on - mostly because I'm mildly paranoid about my information and ways it can be data-mined as well as misused. Blame that on my close association growing up with one too many very skilled data pirates.
That said, in a way, it's sad to see that the worm has started turning so quickly for them. But it is inevitable that if you see people as the revenue source rather than the service you provide people as the revenue source, you will at some point lose the good will of those same folks.
That said - the video is here:

in case you want to view it yourself later.

I saw the interview, nice enough kid, but Oh My, he hasn't got a clue ! Face Book really needs a CEO , they in my opinion are doing nothing right ! Business exists for Profit it has no heart. These kids are bright but really have no time in Grade ! I made some comments a few months ago that Face Book might be the next Edsel ! People got angry at me, but at 71 years old any attention is wonderful !

Marshall, Nice getting a visitor wh is older than me, but I respectfully disagree on two points: (1) Businesses exist 2 serve customers. They should understand how they can profit by doing so. If they get either part of this wrong, they are usually doomed. (2) If the attention is coming from unsolicited sales folk, tax collectors or political aspirants, I can live without the attention and just sit here alone in the dark.
