Connie's Mother's Blog
Connie Reece, the Austin lady with a boa informed me that her 83-year-old mother has started a blog, and it's darned good. It reveals where both Connie and her sister get their spunk. At the risk of sounding competitive, I do a video blog with my 87-year-old mother-in-law Jean Berman. You can find them mixed in here.
I think senior citizen blogging is more than just cute. People who have lived 80 years have seen a lot, and have a certain wisdom that people my age have not yet acquired. Now, social media let's them share what they've learned; let's them tell nuggets of the stories that have been their lives for either their families or the whole world to see.
Thank's Connie's Mom. Keep them coming.

Connie's mom is an awesome woman with very much to say. What a gentleman you are to point out her life and work and her new blog. You're great too, Shel.

Shel, thanks for linking to my mom's blog - she'll be thrilled. Since we are both Connie Reece (I'm named after both parents), it gets confusing around here sometimes. And now that she's blogging ... well, I've got some competition in the social media world.
Now, I need you to work on my sister ..... :)

I am totally amazed and thankful for Mr. Israel's comment on my blog! And thanks to Mike also. It makes me feel special. Laurie you're next.

Shel, thanks for the comments on my Mom's blog. You're such a gentleman! And I am so busted for not having a blog yet. Keep inspiring me, I'll get there.

As I just wrote on Connie's blog, this is the kind of gift between generations that's meant to be shared through 'Naked Conversations' so we can all begin to learn from the wisdom and sage Yodas of the silver set...
I've been trying to get my mom to weigh in as a guest columnist on Shaping Youth for quite some time as her wry wit leaves me in the dust, and her perspectives and pithy prose are priceless. (say that 3 times fast? whew, sorry)
Anyway, kids need to see the many shades of grey in our society as cherished richness and worldliness, rather than media stereotypes of discarded assets, as we worship at the alter of youth. So thanks for the reminder, I feel a blog post coming on to pay this thought forward...
