Voice of a future employee: 'Let me blog.'

Kyle has some nice things to say about Scoble and Naked Conversations, but that is not why I am pointing to it. I am pointing to it because he is in college and about to graduate, and he wants to start his career with a company that will let him blog.

He writes: " "Of course businesses should listen to what their customers are
saying," I think to myself. And "Why wouldn't a company want to be
transparent and open to the world." (OK, I am not that naive, I know
there are good reasons not to, but let me go on.)

I think there are more and more future star employees like Kyle and employers need to pay attention now, if they want to attract the best and brightest members of the next generation.

This is what I've been talking about this year, especially at Reboot 9.0 at my talk "Citizens of the Future":

If companies don't take advantage of those currently making their coffees, doing internships and working in the lowest positions of the organisation then they'll lose out!

Thanks for the kind words. I think there are a lot of students out there who are future stars. I hope that "experts" and employers will take the time to invest in the students of today who will be their future employees. Universities need all the help they can get in preparing us. The best educations come from hands on experience when companies partner with colleges. So don't just try to "attract the best and brightest members of the next generation," please come help train us.
