Apple, Microsoft hit with 'Start, we insist' order

Engadget has a remarkable report on some obscure company sending threatening lawyer letters to Apple, Microsoft and other companies.  You've heard of cease and desist letters? This one charges the companies are actively resisting using Media Rights Technology's (MRT) DRM protection software.

This would be a lot funnier, if the way courts may rule on such a lame and inane argument is scarier than it should be.

I never thought I'd find myself quoting Martin Luther King in a post about DRM and tech giants, but his Letter from a Birmingham Jail resonates in this case:

"One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws."

If MRT has law on its side, no one--other than MRT--benefits.This is one case where I hope the big guys stomp the little tyke into the ground.
