Egyptian Blogger sentenced to 4 years
The BBC just announced that a 22-year-old blogger,Abdel Kareem Soliman will spend four years in prison for using his blog to "insult"al-Azhar university and presdidential strongman Hosni Mubarak. His trial lasted five minutes.

He may have criticized the university, but it was for "insulting Islam and inciting sedition" that he was sentenced to three years (and another for insulting that shrinking violet Mubarak). "Sedition" is a kangaroo catch-all that's also used, among other places, in Malaysia.
