Biz 360 starts a Stats Blog

Biz 360, the self-proclaimed "market intelligence company" has started a blog. MarketIQ Brian Glover promises to provide, "data-driven examples of the changes taking place," which seems like a good idea to me.

I have never actually consulted this company, although I almost did.  I've met Brian and I am hopeful he will deliver what he promises to do in this opening post. It seems to me that the lack good statistical information has been one of the sea anchors slowing corporate blog adoption.

We shall see how this one evolves.

Thanks for noticing our new blog, Shel. When it comes to launching corporate blogs, one of the hesitations I hear most often is that companies don't know what customers and others would say on their blog. With MarketIQ, we plan to demonstrate that companies are the subject of discussion even if they are not blogging themselves (some still don't realize this). And that a little intelligence can help marketers, among other things, anticipate the types of conversations that might take place if they launch a blog.

Hmmm. There's no blog currently located at: http://marketiq.biz360.com/. It's a mirror of the Biz360 home page right now.

One of my colleagues in our PR group at Factiva, Melanie Surplice -- surpliceofspin.blogspot.com -- has been posting many cool items about media measurement. She talks about how the press has been using some of the media tracking metrics that Factiva is producing, including our lighthearted "cliche index" and more serious stuff like Les Echos running our tracking of French CEOs in the media.

Glenn,
That link seems to be broken.

Glenn,

You are making me a little crazy. The link I use in the above post still gets me to a new blog as described. The link you use in your comment is the one that is broken.

Karma. I was trying to be the smart guy pointing out that the Biz360 blog had been taken down (it's up now) and then included a mal-formed link to a Factiva blogger in the process. Lesson learned. Sorry.

(Melanie Surplice's blog is at http://surpliceofspin.blogspot.com/ )

Do I regain favor by saying I'm enjoying your book?

Favor will be fully regained when you blog about the book, then buy a couple doze to pass out to your closest friends. Just kidding. Thanks for joining the conversation over here in any case.
