I was biting my tongue during this past week in Europe. Wherever I went people asked me how Scoble was doing and all I could say was that he was going through changes.
The changes are out. The news is the most talked about thing in the blogosphere today, and well it should be. Robert Scoble's departure from Microsoft to join John Furrier's Podtech is significant news indeed.
To my thinking, this is an enormous coup for Podtech. Robert is among the world's most popular text and video bloggers. It not only elevates Podtech to a new tier as a producer, but it takes a significant forward step in confirming the category of broadcast social media.
I think Robert has made a wise choice. These days, he is going through a good deal of personal growth and he has selected a job where he can grow faster and further than he could in the confines of Microsoft.
Good luck Robert. Congratulations John.

You knew all along? figures of course.
I agree with you, Podtech is going to take a forefront in the tech news industry --I've left some additional thoughts and predictions here

We in the media read into everything. What I'm reading in is that perhaps Microsoft is not the place to be right now for the best and brightest in cyberspace. I wish Robert great luck. Yes, he is changing, as I have picked up from his postings.

I think Robert and you will continue to define and shape various aspects of the new social media.
I am more text oriented, but I like YouTube music band videos, and it's fun to see ppl. Jakob Nielsen said talking head videos are boring and unbearable after a few minutes. I agree.
I hope that podcasting and video blogging can find ways to enliven the presentation of information and anecdote, entertain, enlighten, and hold interest.
I like the entrepreneurs out there like Awasu, Avant, Firefox, Swicki, Podtech, MoBuzz TV, YouTube, etc. who are already operating aggressively in futuristic Content Anarchy Utopia.
