Today was my wedding anniversary as well as the holiest day in my religion. I find some symbolism in the two milestones for our book occured today. This morning we finally agreed on a cover and it's one that Robert and I simply love. We'll be posting an image of it as soon as a few tweaks are finished. It's a big deal to see your name on a book jacket, even if it is just a .pdf file.
The second Naked Conversations milestone came into our hands via FedEx from Hoboken, NJ. The first galley proofs arrived at our doorsteps today. I wasn't sure what a Galley Proof actually looked like. Publishers no longer have galleys in their make up rooms. A Galley Proof looks very much like a book, except it has a plain cover. But there, below the title, were the words in nice tasteful boldface: "Robert Scoble and Shel Israel."
Thank you Wiley for this wonderful anniversary present. I have no idea what this has to do with Yom Kippur.
