Our Publisher Starts a Blog

Joe Wikert is a man of his word. He's our publisher at Wiley and to close the deal, he promised to start his own blog. I had no idea he'd start so soon, but his first posting is here, and it's pretty good if you ask me. Robert is supposed to be his coach, but I have a thought.

Since, I started this project, I've been amazed at the number of people who are reading this blog because they want to write books of their own.  They are learning from our experience about agents and publishers and deals.

Joe, you have passion and authority on what it takes to get a book published. Write about that first and foremost.  Have people come to your site to learn how publisher's think, to tell them what you want to see and to advise them on how to write a more marketable book.

People will come. A few of them will have great books in them.  And because you helped them, they are likely to choose Wiley.  That's the business advantage to blogging.

On Monday Robert and I will start writing a book on the subject. Joe, good luck on this project.  I can't wait to see how it develops.
